Bamburgh
3rd March 2016
I’ve been doing Bamburgh a disservice for years.
Normally if I’m heading North I shoot Howick or Dunstaburgh in the morning and Lindisfarne in the evening. If I’m heading South it is the other way around.
Which means poor old Bamburgh gets the midday sun which is possibly the worst of all possible lights for landscape.
This time I decided to do it differently and give it a proper chance.
I paid for my previous crimes with the loss of a remote camera trigger while crossing the incoming tide after this shot so perhaps we are even now.
What is certain is that this is the best light I have seen at this location and it is not a mistake I intend to make again.
The beach here is fantastic and very often quiet and peaceful. Far better than the heaving crowd filled beaches that people fly off to share with the sweaty greased masses surrounded by bars and hotels.
I love this country.
