Botallack Head, Cornwall.
9 / 10th January 2009
I love this spot, no trip to Cornwall is quite complete for me without trying to capture the atmosphere of this dramatic location.
It’s not just the old mine workings or the craggy shore line, there is something about the light here that I cannot fully explain or understand.
There are shots to be had both morning and evening so I often try to stay overnight in the area.
It is the light of morning that is often most amazing though.
The only problem tends to be that hardly anyone believes the colour has not been created somehow in the computer.
In truth, I have often seen the pink glow of the early sun even more red than depicted here.
I just wish I could find an explanation for this seemingly local phenomenon so I could predict the best times to catch it.
