Seaburn. Tyne and Wear.
27th & 28th January 2004
January each year I have a bit of work up in Tyne and Wear and I’m usually put up in a B+B in South Shields. My usual routine is to grab an early breakfast and then head out for a hour taking pictures before starting work.
With little available time I have tended to rely upon this area of the coast that is easy to reach but offers a range of viewpoints.
Having said that the two shots here are taken from almost the same spot 24 hours and 3 minutes apart.
People often ask me why I go to the same locations time and time again. I often hear people saying that has been photographed before, there’s no point doing it again.
If ever proof was needed that in landscape the location is just the stage upon which the light plays the leading role then these pictures do it for me.
I am sure that given the right location you could take a different picture every day for a lifetime and not find two that would match.
